The National Lottery Community Fund
The Forces in Mind Trust continues The National Lottery Community Fund support for veterans across the UK. Since 2004 the Fund has given more than £88 million to programmes supporting veterans. The Fund’s Heroes Return initiative has enabled over 51,000 Second World War veterans, widows, spouses and carers to journey back to the places where they served and fought or where their loved ones died.
The National Lottery Community Fund (the Fund) is the largest distributor of Lottery money to good causes and is responsible for distributing 46 per cent of all funds raised for good causes (about 13 pence of every pound spent on a Lottery Ticket) by The National Lottery.
Since June 2004, the Fund has awarded over £6bn to projects supporting health, education, environment and charitable purposes. Most funding is awarded to voluntary and community sector organisations.
