Forces in Mind Trust appoints two new Directors to its Board.
Elizabeth Spencer and Adrienne Skelton have been appointed Directors
FiMT is pleased to announce Elizabeth Spencer and Adrienne Skelton as Directors to its Board. They join FiMT as Andrew Ward and Anais Reding step down from the Board, as they come to the end of their second term as Directors.
Adrienne Skelton is the former Director of Strategic Development at Versus Arthritis. As a former Head of Evidence at the Big Lottery Fund and Macmillan Cancer Support, she brings to FiMT an extensive understanding of public policy and charity governance. Adrienne belongs to a military family, with her father having served 27 years in the Armed Forces.
Elizabeth Spencer was a former Army Officer with the Intelligence Corps who joins FiMT with the lived experience of transitioning from the Armed Forces. Elizabeth is now Head of Policy and Governance for ICG Reputation Risk at Citibank and brings to FiMT broad expertise in governance and risk management. Elizabeth joins FiMT to ‘give back’ by aiding FiMT to transform the transition space.
The two new directors were confirmed by the Board of Forces in Mind Trust on 12 December 2023 with immediate effect.
Michelle Alston, Chief Executive of Forces in Mind Trust, said:
“We welcome two brilliant new directors today and we are extremely grateful for the time, energy, and experience they bring with them to FiMT. They bring a wealth of experience in governance and public policy delivery, whilst their experiences in the Armed Forces community gives them great insight into FiMT’s mission to support the transition for all ex-Service personnel and their families.
We look forward to working with both Adrienne and Elizabeth as we continue to influence and bring about change for all ex-Service personnel and families as they join civilian life.”
Jim Macleod CB CVO, Chair of Forces in Mind Trust, said:
“Whilst it is always sad to say goodbye to directors as they reach the end of their terms, I am delighted to welcome Adrienne and Elizabeth to the FiMT Board. They are joining us at a pivotal period in the Trust’s life and I know they will bring valuable advice and challenge to the Trust.”
