A new briefing paper from the University of Salford has provided evidence to inform the Department for Work and Pension’s Armed Forces Champions (AFCs) programme. The briefing details examples of how Armed Forces Champions assist ex-Service personnel navigate the benefits system, and provide ongoing support to those with complex needs

The paper stems from the Sanctions, Support and Service Leavers project funded by Forces in Mind Trust and provides recommendations for the DWP to take forward in their continuing support of ex-Service personnel and families in their transition to civilian life.
