Sunderland City Council Armed Forces Partnership wins Working Together Award
The award was announced at the Soldiering On Awards on Wednesday 16th October
Sunderland City Council was announced as the winner of the Forces in Mind Trust sponsored Working Together Award at the Soldiering On Awards 2024. The winner was announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday.
The Armed Forces Partnership brought together a multitude of organisations in Sunderland alongside the local authority to address the complex needs of the Armed Forces community. Amongst their many achievements is that none of the over 10,000 veterans in Sunderland face rough sleeping.
Sunderland was one of three finalists alongside Cornwall Council and the Midlands Op Courage Partnership that were nominated for the award that celebrates collaborative projects working with the Armed Forces community.
Chief Executive of Forces in Mind Trust Michelle Alston congratulated Sunderland City Council saying “Sunderland City Council Armed Forces Partnership is a fantastic alliance providing support to our community and it was great to celebrate their work, and those of the other finalists at the Soldiering On Awards.”
