He previously worked for NHS digital in its transformation agenda aiming to drive forward digital implementation in the wider NHS. Prior to that he was a career Royal Naval officer whose appointments spanned service in submarines and ships of all types as well as UK MOD, tri-Service and international defence and security policy roles. He commanded two frigates, HMS LONDON and HMS IRON DUKE and has had operational tours to the Middle East and South Atlantic amongst many international detachments.

Tom holds a Masters degree from Kings College London, a BSc Hons degree in Systems and Management from The City University and is an alumni of the Royal College of Defence Studies.
