Qualitative research exploring public perceptions of the Armed Forces and veterans. This project forms the qualitative half of a larger project with MOD who funded the quantitative perceptions survey.

A 9-month commissioned piece of research conduct a systematic review of all relevant quality literature on the current scientific evidence, and changes and gaps in evidence, concerning the mental health needs of serving and ex-Service personnel and their families since 2012, including the perspectives of key stakeholders.

A two-and-a-half year study to identify how ex-Service personnel may be more vulnerable to developing issues with gambling that the wider population, and estimate any resultant healthcare costs by exploring the relationship between financial management and mental health problems. An 18-month study to assess the needs of ex-Service personnel and their families who are serving, or have served, a custodial prison sentence.

In November 2016, FiMT partnered with St George’s House to deliver a consultation to explore how transition is approached and managed in different settings and sectors. These transitions were examined from three different perspectives: of the individual experiencing the change; the network of family and friends around the individual; and wider societal stakeholders.

A three-year evaluation of The Veterans' Advocacy People Service. The evaluation will be undertaken by SERIO, the research and intelligence division of Plymouth University.

A 15-month study into understanding which ex-Service personnel are more likely to recognise they have an alcohol problem, and then who goes on to seek help for it. Read the press release.

A year-long project investigating the transitional barriers for Service leavers aged 50 plus who are entering civilian employment. The study includes all three Services and all ranks.

A research project (in partnership with NatCen) to explore how organizations, excluding Local Authorities and Government departments, are delivering pledges under the Armed Forces Covenant in Great Britain.

Sponsorship of the 2019 Working Together Award which honours a person, team or organisation that has demonstrated an enduring commitment and a collaborative approach, engaging with external organisations to support the sector within the wider community.
